Wisely re-released, the two-year old Bustin’ Out from Nashville’s Pure Prairie League stands as one of country rock’s finest moments. Now that the field has been paved by the success of the Eagles, perhaps Pure Prairie League won’t fall on deaf ears this time around. Its second album (the first was equally impressive), shows driving-force Craig Fuller’s vocal and composing talents – best show here in “Call Me, Tell Me.” “Amie” and the ill-fated single “Early Morning Riser” – surely deserve equal mention with such country-rocking luminaries as Richie Furay, Kenny Loggins and Glenn Frey.
