Cosmic Arts is a Brooklyn based independent community center for music and visual arts built to support the vision of transforming words into action with the focus of bringing our world closer, one rhythm and idea at a time.
We have created a free-form creative environment as a platform for musicians, visual artist and performers who seek space to birth and mature their imaginations. We have created a space for community to share in the artistic process with others who have similar creative aspirations, and to support those who are simply curious, but may not have had the opportunity, time or space to realize their vision coming to form.
In the concept of being and not knowing and therefore are wide open to all possibilities and some.
Our space will be a platform for unlimited thoughts of creativity to bring people together who share the love of music, art and thought. It will be home that strives to lift the spirits of the young and temporarily misplaced. We at cosmic arts believe that anyone who can imagine, think, dream, and have the ability to express is an artist. We do away with the stereotype of what constitutes art, and who can be considered to be an artist. Providing this alternate thought and space will encourage people who have been alienated, discouraged and misinformed to come out and express! We open the space to participate in the process of coming together and creating, whether that be through a stroke of a brush, turning knobs, exchanging ideas via verbal expression or simply listening.
We aim to fill a void in the world dominated by cyber communication and digital music.
We provide meeting place where people can connect with one another through their common love for music, vinyl records, art and meaningful conversation.
We house a Music Library, Record Store, Art Gallery, as well as a Space for Lectures, performances and Movement Arts. Our space is a place where both empathy and unity rule. It is a space where music enthusiasts can enjoy listening, as well as study music via the collection excavated and chosen by Joaquin Joe Claussell and that of trusted music archaeologist that Joaquin’s associated with, all of whom he trust and respects.
We also encourage you to join the process of sharing your knowledge of music with others.
